ISABEL PATERSON
Isabel has been part of Makepeace Quilters, Dumbarton, for the last 10 years and was a founder member of the group along with Patricia and Ruth. She completed both Part 1 of the City and Guilds in Patchwork and Quilting and a Machine Embroidery course at Cardonald College in Glasgow. Her great love is traditional quilting and this has been put to good use over the past few years in the making of countless baby quilts for people in the local community and noticeably never seems to get to the end of the request list for these.
Isabel holds office in a number of organisations and groups – as a Unison (trade union) Steward, as the Welfare Officer and Publicity Officer for West Dunbartonshire Council Unison branch, as treasurer of both Makepeace Quilters and the quilt-making, quilt-donating Comfort Quilts, as legal administrator for Loch Lomond Quilt Show and the programme of STUDIO classes and workshops – and somehow she also manages to squeeze in working fulltime at Dumbarton Library.
In her ‘spare time’ Isabel just loves being with her two year old granddaughter Abbie.
