Ruth Higham has been making quilts since her late teens.  For the first 20 or so years all her quilts were paper pieced until she discovered a whole new world through City and Guilds Patchwork and Quilting at Cardonald Collage, Glasgow.  There she studied for four years to reach Diploma level.  She then taught C & G at Cardonald for two years.

Ruth then studied for the Quilt Judges’ Certificate (a two year distance learning course) with the Quilters Guild of the British Isles.  Her certificate was awarded in 2005.  Ruth has judged at the Festival of Quilts, Loch Lomond Quilt Show and other local events.

Ruth teaches regular local groups such as Cotton On and Oasis in Glasgow along with workshops throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.  She has spoken at groups throughout the UK.

Ruth is a member of Helensburgh and District Quilters, the Glasgow Gathering of Quilters, the Quilters Guild of the British Isles (www.quiltersguild.org.uk) and any other quilting group that will have her!
